In the September, 1958, the preamble was first published by The Grapevine in its present form. It now appears in much of our literature to tell what A.A. is and does, as well as what it is not and does not. Today, it’s often read at the beginning of A.A. meetings. This is the “people” version, not the “men and women” version.
